This component, injection molded from FortronÒ
PPS, is part of a breathing regulator system designed for use in fire fighting equipment.
After molding, there are a number of CNC machining operations to provide features that
require very tight tolerances or that are not economically viable to mold. Obviously, the
need for optimum material properties and for the part to unfailingly meet specification
cannot be understated.
Allegheny supplies a number of components for this system, each of them
critical to the overall performance of the equipment. We were chosen by our customer
because of our reputation for quality and our ability to process materials to provide
optimum performance characteristics.
Allegheny was involved in this project from design through production. This is very
important to the success of bringing a product to market and ensuring that the components
are optimally designed for both performance and manufacturability.
