Sliding Vanes and Bushings for Air Motors
Precision molding for precision tools

These vanes and bushings are used in Air Motors for dental
polishing hand tools operating at 18,000 RPM. To maintain the optimum power of the
equipment they are molded to exacting standards involving dimensional tolerances of less
than 0.0005" including flash. The material is a specially formulated wear grade of
Victrex®PEEK (polyaryletherketone, polyetheretherketone). PEEK was chosen for its
unparalleled ability to perform at the high PV’s specified, hold tight as molded
dimensional tolerances and withstand the repeated sterilization cycles required of dental
equipment. Both parts are molded in multi-cavitation molds and use hot runner technology to minimize material scrap and increase manufacturing efficiencies. Due to the small size of these components, sophisticated high powered optical equipment is used throughout the manufacturing processes to ensure parts are supplied within the specification parameters allowed. |
