Hot Runner Molds
Many of the high temperature advanced thermoplastics have a price premium over conventional engineering thermoplastics. This sometimes dictates the need for hot runner (runnerless) mold designs, where feasible, to keep material costs down and optimize economical production.
Allegheny understands the importance of matching the hot runner design to the application to achieve the optimum properties from the material and from the part design. Careful consideration is given to the choice of system used to ensure it can process the material without adversely affecting mechanical properties and to ensure it is sized correctly to keep residence time, material heat history, to a minimum.
