Tanks for Electrolytic Service
Electrolytic applications are one of the best uses of polypropylene construction because of the excellent dielectric and corrosion resistant properties of this material. Electrode life, contact roll life, and tank life are extended since stray currents are eliminated.
- STRIP TANKS FOR ELECTROLYTIC PICKLING AND CLEANING
Strip tanks have been designed for neutral salts, sulphuric, nitric, and caustic pickling and cleaning. There are polypropylene tanks in electrolytic pickling service that support up to 37 tons of cast electrodes on the plastic tank rim.
- VERTICAL PLATING CELLS FOR ELECTROLYTIC PLATING OR CLEANING
Polypropylene cells are resistant to methane sulfonic acid and most other plating and cleaning solutions. Deep cells can be reinforced with steel members that are fully encapsulated in polypropylene. For vertical tanks the rolls are supported externally and mechanical seals are used to retain the solution at the roll necks.
